Major Stone Half Marathon Report

Sunday 7th September 2014

On a warm and sunny late summer’s day a group of dedicated Knavesmire Harriers gathered in the pretty village of Lockington to run the Major Stone Half Marathon organised by East Hull Harriers. It was a mainly flat course (John’s words) along the country lanes of East Yorkshire.

From a spectator’s point of view, it was one of the best I’ve been to in a while. Due to the nature of the course I was able to be at the 2 and 10 mile points to encourage all the runners, especially York Knavesmire Harriers.

While the competitors were running the course, I sampled the tea and cakes on offer in the Village Hall to ensure that the quality was good enough for our runners – I’m very pleased to report they were!

Well done everyone!
