Black Sheep Ale Race Series 
 

I am delighted to report that York Knavesmire Harriers have successfully completed the Black Sheep Series 2009 with excellent results. Each race of the series was a pleasure to do even the Burn Valley Half marathon which some called Death Burn Valley because of its toughness and those harriers who completed the race are no exception to running hard tough races!!!! 2010 Black Sheep series will continue - Hooray!!!

1. Individual awards on age category basis (only 1st 2nd and third places):- FEMALE OVER 55 Maureen Medlar 1st FEMALE OVER 60 Mavis Young 2nd MALE UNDER 35 Chris Smith 2nd MALE OVER 50 David Darton 3rd 2. Finisher Medals won by Margaret Brown,Jane Hartas, Margaret Oliver. Martin Smith,Colin Lea,Gary Moss,Andy Young, John Oliver 3 Big 8 tee shirts awarded to all those who completed the entire series of 8 races Margaret and John Oliver, Gary Moss,Martin Smith, Andy Young. Look forward to seeing more Knavesmire Harriers next year - if you feel up to the challenge

To be eligible for a Race Series award runners must complete 4 of the 7 10k races plus either the 10 mile or 1/2 Marathon. Runners will be awarded points for their finishing position in each race, these points when added for completed races give your overall points total. There are lots of awards and prizes in all the different age groups which are handed out at a fairly informal dinner at the Black Sheep Brewery at the end of the series.
