Vet’s Grand Prix Series. Race 7 – Report.

Vet’s Grand Prix Series. Race 7

 What a Team

Once again a really stupendous TEAM effort at our home vets G P Event.

Unusually for vets racing our course is flat and lacking in ‘vets’ mud – a fact much maligned by our hill loving West Yorkshire opposition. Strange that – as we can report a record attendance this year. Can’t be too bad then?

Breezy but warm conditions did nothing to deter our intrepid team who were lead home (just) by Stephen Maddison 37.44mins just pipping Emma Yates to the line by 1 second. Another fantastic run by Emma Yates who finished 2nd lady overall and first F45 – some achievement after her success at The Jane Tomlinson 10k on Sunday.

Glad to report that Stephan Durkin found his way round the course to finish as our second man home – did he have a map?

Success also for Sarah Nettleton 3rd F50 and Maureen Medlar 2nd F60 and Ian Bithell 3rd M70. Great to see Sarah and Maureen both running back into form after prolonged injuries.

Congratulations to all our runners for their points winning runs.

Last but by no means least can we please say a huge Thank You to all club members who volunteered to help. Without their hard work and support this event could not take place. It is with some pride that we can report that many of the opposition rate our on and off course hospitality as the best in the series!

The next GP event is on the 12th August at Bingley at 7.30pm. We will be meeting at the back of the racecourse at 5.45 pm prompt.

Individual race and all vets competition details can be found on the Knavesmire website or alternatively at www.yvaa.org
