Vet’s Grand Prix Series. Race 8 Spen Stadium 9th November Spen 10 
Well done to our 10 intrepid YKH club members who turned out for their club to compete in the last of this year’s G P series in almost perfect running conditions.
Always a very fast start with two laps round the Spen Stadium running track the remainder of the 5.2 mile course was unusually sound underfoot- not much mud but all the other vets goodies – stiles and hills keeping us all on our toes.
Brilliant running by Barry Atkinson (32.37) who led the team home (tying for 6th place overall with the first M35!) and winning the M55 age category. Great running by Ian Bithell who once again secured a third place age category placing. Well done and thanks to all the gents for your attendance this series – you have put us ladies to shame!
Somewhat depleted by injury and the inevitable event clashes both our teams have run competitively all series but have been unable to secure trophy places this year. Special mentions for Ian Bithell and Pete Downes both of whom have run consistently well throughout the series to gain 4th and 5th places in their respective age categories. Well done to our newcomer Micheal Collins who has run all but one of the races in the series – most of them in his very fetching blue barefoot footwear. Congratulations Iads on your marvelous individual efforts and for your support to the team cause.
Thanks to each and everyone who ran for team YKH this year and for all those who helped and supported us during 2014.
