YKH Club Championship runs for 2017..

The number of eligible races is now 19 and only your best 8 results count. This give runners more choice on which runs they do and allow for a more varied range of races to better reflect all aspects of the club. Lots of members run in these races, making them good social events as well as exciting races.

Race Types
MT = Multi-terrain – Their will be sections that are not on road. These are usually tracks or sometimes grass. Trail specific shoes are recommended.

Trail = Similar to Multi-Terrain except the majority of the race will not be on road.Trail specific shoes are recommended.

XC = Cross Country – These are off road multi-lap races. There is often muddy sections depending on the time of year. Cross Country Spikes recommended, heavy treaded trail shoes are ok.

Fell – These are races that usually contain large hills and moorland running. Fell Shoes or heavy treaded trail shoes recommended. The below kit is the standard FRA kit requirements for fell running. Please bring full kit to the Fell races, some items may be relaxed on the day depending on the weather. You will not be allowed to run without the required kit for your own safety and anyone who does will be disqualified:

  • Full Body Waterproofs including attached hood
  • Seperate Hat
  • Gloves
  • Compass
  • Map of race
  • Whistle
  • Gel or Energy Bar

    Rules
    You compete against your own gender in age categories. Starting at Under 40 and then increasing in 5 year increments.

    12 points are now awarded for 1st then 9 for 2nd, 8 for 3rd and so on down to 1 point for 10th. All runners in a category receive at least 1pt.

    There are 3 awards per category which are Gold, Silver and Bronze with a minimum of 6 races required to receive an Award.

    Only your best 8 results count towards your total

    Anyone completing the 8 races who does not win a position award will recieve a seperate award rewarding their participation.

    When Chip Timing is available this will be used to determine race positions instead of Gun Time.
