Vets GP#3 – Kirkstall report

Vet’s Grand Prix Series. Race 3 Kirkstall Abbey Tues 27th May Unfortunately due to the usual clash with the York Summer league our Vets contingent was greatly reduced! In the picturesque (if somewhat wet and murky) grounds of Kirkstall Abbey Pete Downes was the sole YKH representative. Well done Pete great racing as usual. Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon – PB for Stef

On Sun May 25  (Argentina's independence day freedom fans) I ran Liverpool rock n roll marathon my 28th full,  cracking conditions overcast  no wind after usual power breakfast= ambrosia rice cold from tin and a hardboiled egg  (natures energy gel) I set off from corral 2 in the Albert Dock 9am  (commentator insisted on calling them corals, standards man!!). YKH races the Grrrrrrrrreat Manchester Run

On Sunday 18 May Alistair McQueen, Membership Secretary, braved the streets of sunny Manchester (in his tiger onesie) to complete the Great Manchester 10k. Over 30,000 people ran the race. It was eventually won by Ethiopia's world record holder Kenenisa Bekele - in a time of 28 minutes 23 seconds. Fantastic results amongst the glorious Moors near Osmotherly, in the second race of the  N.Runner/NEHRA Summer Series 2014.
