York Knavesmire Harriers runners participate in a wide variety of running events. We particularly encourage members to run in Club runs (8 races a year in which members accumulate points towards an annual award), the York and District Road Race League (six 10k races on alternative Tuesdays from May to July in which runners from several local clubs compete with each other) and Vets races (we compete against other clubs in the Yorkshire Vets series for over-35s and every member participating in one of these races earns the club points).

York Knavesmire Harriers take part in a wide range of other road races. Fixtures can be found on a number of running sites, notably runners world and UKresults, that can be reached from our links page here. In addition to road running, we have a strong Cross country squad, which all members are encouraged to participate in.

The latest fixtures for these races are summarized in the Race Calendar and further details can be found by clicking on the pages in the Races section. It is not necessary to compete in all the races in a series and trying a small number of them can be very rewarding.

York Knavesmire Harriers members also enjoy getting together in small groups to participate in runs across the country, in Europe and in other countries.
Nearly 100 club members participate in Parkrun each week also.
