Threshold Thursday.

Thursday Threshold / Hill sessions are currently on hold . Hopefully these will resume in Spring 2022.

Who the Sessions are for
These sessions are targeted at endurance runners and triathletes. You should have a good endurance base. If you are new to these sessions or are coming back after injury please speak to the coach before the session starts.

Threshold Sessions Format
The sessions last for about one hour and are run on a one mile off-road loop with some undulations in the summer and a one and a half mile loop around South Bank in the Winter. The aim of the session is to increase your lactic threshold (LT) to improve your race pace at distances from 10k to a marathon.

Hills Sessions Format
The sessions last for about one hour and are run at the University underpass in Winter or the bottom of the hill near the Marriot in the Autumn. The aim of the session is to increase your strength endurance. A typical session would be 6-8 hill reps of around a third of a mile.
