The number of races on offer is 12-14 and only your best 6 results count. This gives runners a good choice of which runs they do and allows for a more varied range of races to better reflect all aspects of the club. Lots of members tend to run in these races, making them good social events as well as exciting races.
Rules
- You compete against your own gender in age categories. Starting at under-40 and then increasing in 5 year increments. (ie. 40-44, 45-49, etc). The age category used throughout the year is your age on 1st January 2025.
- 12 points are awarded for 1st club runner in their category then 9 for 2nd, 8 for 3rd and so on down to 1 point for 10th. All runners in a category receive at least 1 point.
- Only your best 6 results count towards your total, with a minimum of 5 completed races in order to qualify for a championship award in your category.
- There are 3 awards per category: Gold, Silver and Bronze. Anyone completing 6 races who does not win a position award will receive a separate award rewarding their participation. This does not apply to people who have completed only 5 races.
- When Chip Timing is available this will be used to determine race positions instead of Gun Time.
- After each race we calculate the points for each member and a running total of points will be published throughout the year.

Race Types
π Β MT = Multi-terrain β There will be sections that are not on road. These are usually tracks or sometimes grass. Depending upon time of year, trail specific shoes can be helpful if you have them.
π· XC = Cross Country β These are off road multi-lap races. There are often muddy sections depending on the time of year. Cross Country Spikes recommended, heavy treaded trail shoes are ok.
β° Fell β These races have been carefully selected to encourage those members who haven’t yet tried a fell race to have a go. The races are short, and should average between 25 and 50 metres climb per kilometre and be off road. As the races are not in the winter, are short and pretty close to civilisation the normal extra kit requirement is likely to be just a waterproof top and trail/fell shoes with additional grip, though it is as well to keep an eye on the weather as unusually bad conditions may lead to additional requirements.
π Road – Glorious tarmac as far as the eye can see. These races are very accessible and should be free of any muddy or sloppy bits.
