As many of you know, Colin and I are running our 100th marathon on my 60th birthday on Saturday. We are starting at 10.00am (with the ultra runners rather than at the marathon start time) at Redbridge Cycle Centre on a multiple lap marathon as part of the Twilight Ultra, Marathon and half marathon event. Supporters are also joining us for the last half at 1230 to run a half marathon and there will be birthday celebrations track side. We would like to thank all the people at the club for being such a great support to our running since we started marathons in 2005.
A couple of people have asked if we are running it to support any charity. We have decided to run it both for a local community charity in Manchester and a national one, MIND.
The local one is the George House Trust. This is Manchester’s only provider of services to people living with HIV. We have been associated with this since we started running marathons and I know they do great work that makes a real difference to peoples’ lives.
