Brass Monkey – Useful Info

BRASS MONKEY UPDATE

Dear Brass Monkey runners.

Our preparations are complete and we look forward to welcoming you to our half marathon on Sunday.

Here are some final reminders in response to a few questions we have received over the past few days.

Bib numbers: There are no entries or transfers on the day. All bib numbers have been posted. If you have not received your bib number, please report to the enquiries desk in the Ebor Stand at York Racecourse on race day and we will give you a new number. Please bring proof of identity – e.g. a bank card.

Road closures from 9:20am: Roads near the start-line will close from 9:20am, so get there early.

Limited parking: There is limited free parking at York racecourse, and this may be reduced further due to waterlogged ground. If you don’t need to drive, we recommend walking to York Racecourse. If our car parks are full, runners will be required to find local street parking. As a reminder, roads near the race course will close from 9:20, so get there early.

No flooding: There is no flooding on the race route, and York is very much open for business.

Icy roads: It is forecast to be chilly on Sunday – well it is the Brass Monkey after all! We can’t control the weather, but in addition to council services we have a private gritting firm providing extra grit. Runner safety is our number one priority.

Water stations: There are three water stations on the course. We also provide water at the finish line.

No MP3s: For the safety of all runners, MP3s/headphones are not permitted.

If we have any further updates before the race, these will be posted on our website –http://www.yorkknavesmireharriers.co.uk/brass-monkey/

If you have any final questions, please email brassmonkeyhalfmarathon@gmail.com.

Finally, have a great day and run well!
