Race report York summer league road race- Easingwold 2014
Well done to all those who turned out in the delightful weather at the Easingwold 10k road race.
Once again we had great success in both male and female categories with positions in the top 3 for York Knavesmire Harriers.
In the mens race 3rd place went to Lindsay Toulson with a time of 36.15, followed closely by Simon Collins with a time of 36.20. With many of our male members reporting PB’s for the course.
In the womens race 2nd place went to Emma Yates with a time of 39.57, followed by Anwen Darlington finishing in 3rd with a time of 40.12. There was a good turnout of female runners boosting the ladies team.
We were again victorious in both the Men’s and Ladies team competitions.
At the beginning of the race the weather conditions were much to be desired, with rain and heavy cloud cover. However, our members who turned out ran well, and were spurred on by cheering from members of the public. The ladies captain Nik provided additional support towards the final stages of the course which was a welcomed gesture.
