Introduction to Fell Running

Date: Saturday 14th March at 10am
Location: Lord Stones Café, Carlton Bank, TS9 7JH
Kit: There is no required kit but bring the shoes with the biggest tread you have. Clothing is weather dependent but it would be wise to bring a waterproof.

Knavesmire Harriers are running an “Introduction to Fell Running” session which is open to all club members. You don’t need any previous fell running experience or any fancy kit to come along, as long as you can manage around 4 miles you will be able to take part. This will be a good opportunity to try out fell running without the pressure of a race and is perfect preparation for the October Club Run.

The plan is to meet at Lord Stones Café at Carlton Bank on the north edge of the North Yorks Moors and then we will head towards Clay Bank before returning to the Café. There will be multiple routes each led by one of the clubs regular fell runners. They will range in distance and difficulty from around four miles with a single climb to over eight miles with multiple hard climbs. Once the run is over the café is a good place to refuel and chat about a great day on the fells.

If you are interested in taking part or if you are one of our experienced fell runners and you are happy to lead a group please let me know at mr_croberts@hotmail.com or 07720 710411. Lifts can be arranged for those members who do not have their own transport.

I will send out more information to those interested nearer the time.
