Knavesmire’s Emma Yates 1st Lady at Hull 10k – report

Hull 10k – Sunday 8 June

Nine Knavesmire Harriers made the journey to sunny Hull on Sunday to make up the 5,000 strong field in the first of the Jane Tomlinson 10k series this year. The run loops around Hull’s historic city centre and takes in some of its famous landmarks, namely the marina! It’s a completely flat course, which is great for those of us that don’t like hills, and so quite fast, but there are lots of sharp turns and narrow sections to manoeuvre through and a few cobbled sections too.

The atmosphere was great and the route was lined with lots of really enthusiastic supporters and a very welcome hose-pipe!

First Harrier home was Lyndsay Toulson in 35.55 to claim 14th place overall. Emma Yates was 1st lady in 38.02 and there were superb performances by Patsy Griffith & Janet Hales claiming joint 2nd in their age category. Well done to all runners.
