FRA Relays – Report

We headed over to the Middleton Fells, the venue for this years FRA Relays, at the crack of dawn to get there in time for registration and a team lineup change. It had been an eventful last 24 hours with Tony Heron, my planned leg 2 partner, coming down with illness and us having to draft Tom in at the last minute. Langdale Horseshoe Report

Despite York Marathon taking place on the same weekend, myself, Tony Heron, Barry Atkinson and Anwen Darlington decided to head to the Lakes for the last big Lakeland race of the year. The Langdale Horseshoe is a 13 mile course which features around 4000ft of climbing. After an early start and long drive we arrived in Langdale. Yorkshire Marathon 2014 – Photos & Report

York Knavesmire Harriers were out in force on our home turf Marathon. Results :  Yorkshire Marathon Results There were over 40 Harriers running the 26.2 miles and what seemed like a huge number out on the route providing enthusiastic and very welcome support. Great to see  Club President Malcolm Fawcett, who had comandeered a traffic island near Dunnington, and was waving his YKH flag with great pride. Northern Road Relays Report

A great turnout this year for the Northern Road Relays with us having two Men's teams and a Ladies team taking part. The men's race started with the usual crazy fast start with myself on the first leg for the A team. I tried my best to keep up but failed miserably with the fast first mile causing me to suffer for the rest of the 6k. I handed over to Simon Collins in 78th place.
