Bit of a late round up of last weekends racing.
Saturday saw a Park Run victory at York for Harry Holmes in 17:15 and there was a PB of 21:39 for Dave Scoreby.
Sunday saw two big races for the club, Glaisdale Rigg Fell Race on the Moors and the other was the Snake Lane 10 Club Run at Pocklington.
At Glaisdale there was a first fell victory for Ladies Captain Nik Vogan who ran well throughout to take the win by 10 seconds. In the Men’s race there was a large contingent of Knavesmire runners in the top 10 with Harry Holmes finishing 2nd to move into the lead in the Winter Series with two races to go. Not too far behind was Nick Zissler in 4th who had a race long battle with fell virgin Sam Allin, 5th, whose Salomon Speedcrosses arrived just in time for the weekend. Next up was Neil Stabbs who was pleased with a good run to finish 6th with Giles Hawking, 9th, finishing strong to overtake Barry Atkinson, 10th and 1st M55, and Tom Ratcliffe, 11th. Andy Gibbs was 82nd, Petra Gibbs 90th and 2nd F40 and Gabriel Uttley recently back from injury was 97th. The Men again easily claimed the team prize with competition really hotting up to be part of the 4 man team.
At Snake Lane where there was a large turnout of Harriers and despite the strong winds there were some great runs. Chris Roberts was first back in 9th with a big PB of 57:00, there were also PB’s for Jason Higgins 60:54, David Lease 62:53, Danny Chan 64:06, Sarah Attwood 68:13, James Ollerenshaw 76:38, Stephen Wilson 77:37, Alistair McAndrew 77:42, Emma Hartley 78:15, Clare Moffat 82:38, Viv Fraser 83:51, Mark Anness 86:53. There were also great runs from Maureen Medlar 2nd F60 and Ian Bithell 3rd M70.
