Winter Fell Series 14/15 Report

After 15 races and almost seven months of racing the Esk Valley Winter series finished last weekend with the Maybeck Three Crosses. It has been a great series with lots of excellent individual and team performances with over 150 bottles of wine won.

In the team competition the Men have been dominant again with 8 team victories and 4 second places. In the Ladies we have not managed to get a team out too many times but still managed 3 second places.

In the Men’s individual Chris Roberts won the overall title with three races to spare which included a race victory and five second places. Despite none of our other runners completing the required 8 races they were all high up in the standings with Neil Stabbs 4th, Barry Atkinson 7th, Simon Collins 10th and Giles Hawking 15th. Barry also had 7 M55 victories but missed out on the title due to not getting his 8 races in.

In the Ladies individual Anwen Darlington claimed a race victory and a second place and Nik Vogan had a second and third place finish. Janet Cordingley had a great series claiming the F50 title with one F50 victory and six second places with Sarah Nettleton 6th.

There is no time for our fell runners to rest with the Summer Series starting on Wednesday 6th May at 7:15pm with the Carlton Challenge. More information can be found here. If you have any questions you can contact me at mr_croberts@hotmail.com or 07720 710 411.
