—Eskdale Eureka.
A 9 mile race on the North Yorkshire Moors starting at Castleton. It was a beautiful Winter’s day, a thin layer of frost made for the occasional slippy patch , though ironically the most dangerous parts of the course were the bits on road.

—Original Everest Marathon.
Barry Atkinson ran in the world’s highest marathon, the event starts at an altitude of 5184m at the original Everest Base Camp and descends to the finish at the Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar at 3446m, it is not all downhill though there are plenty of climbs on the way.
Barry completed the arduous event in 6 hours 43 minutes one of the fastest times ever recorded by an over 60. It would of been the record but a more spritely over 60 beat him on the day.
