Footage from before and during the 8.0 kilometre Senior Women's race at the Northern Cross Country Championships at Camp Hill Estate near Bedale in North Yorkshire yesterday. By this point of the afternoon some sections of the course were true quagmires! The race was impressively won by GB international Jess Judd (Blackburn Harriers), with Georgia Taylor-Brown (Sale Harriers) second, and the 2018 and 2019 champion Mhairi Maclennan (Preston Harriers) third.Lots of interest for me in spotting competitors who have taken part in the Isle of Man Easter Festival of Running over the years, including Jen Walsh, Lucy Crookes, Caroline Lambert, Amelia Pettitt, Claire Duck, Hannah Brown, Ruby Skyes, Beth Ansell – and others I'm sure.

Footage of the Senior Men's race at the Northern Cross Country Championships at Camp Hill Estate in North Yorkshire yesterday. There were nearly 600 competitors in a race held over a distance of 12.6 kilometres. The race winner was Calum Johnson (Gateshead Harriers & AC), second was Joe Steward (East Cheshire Harriers & Tame) and third was Linton Taylor (Leeds City AC).As in the women's race there were several competitors who have taken part in the Isle of Man Easter Festival of Running over the years, including bronze medallist Linton Taylor. By chance I happened to find myself standing next to Linton's dad as the leaders approached the very muddy section!Featured in this film is Alan Corlett (Manx Harriers) who was 35th and his teammate Andrew Falconer who was 311th.
