YKH Weekly Round Up – w.e 26th March

—Long Mynd Valleys – 1st Race of 2017 British Fell Championships.

With the beautiful Shropshire Hills and lovely weather this was a great race to start the fell championships season off with.

This 11.5 mile race was over an undulating 11.5 miles and featured nearly 1400 metres of ascent, spread over 7 individual climbs .

—Coniston 14 mile.

Paul & Su Adams & Helen Leach ran the  Coniston 14 mile in the Lake District (Su’s 65th birthday) on Saturday 25th March.


—Dark Skies Trail Marathon.

John Freel ran this nocturnal race at Kielder Forest.


—Monsal Trail 1/2 Marathon.

This out and back trail race starts and finishes at Bakewell in the Peak District.

In the race held on Saturday Caroline Warrington was 1st Lady and 6th overall , in a time of 1:29:24.


—Olympia Marathon

Colin Lea and David Darton  ran the 3rd Olympia Marathon in Greece, The Course is relatively flat. Start from the city of Amaliada, pass through the city of Pyrgos and end in the historic town of Ancient Olympia, a few hundred meters far from the ancient stadium.

David Darton received  the trophy for being first over 55 and was was 38th overall in  4:15:13.
Colin was 64th 4:53:56
