Vet’s Grand Prix Series. Race 7 Home Event –Knavesmire 5th August

Another successful event with some great running byTeam YKH. A total of 15 club members ran to collect points for the club with one younger member running as a non points scoring guest. Our ladies all ran well with our team of gents excelling in many of the age related placings. First YKH member home was Neill Stabbs (our youngster) who in addition to being placed 5th overall achieved third place in the M35 category. David Darton and Colin Lea – Knavesmire’s most Wandering Wasps?

David Darton and Colin Lea have been travelling far and wide   as they continue to seek out running adventures at home and abroad. The Wandering Wasps award may already be sewn up as , so far this year they have completed Marathons  in : -Oman ( January ) -Malta ( February ) -Greater Manchester ( April ) -Stockholm ( May ) -Cheltenham Challenge ( April ) -Mauritius ( July ) , which was the 70th marathon completed since 2005 ! Clennell Trail Marathon and Ten Mile race

Two mountain goats and a whippet (Liz Matthews, Maureen Medlar and Darren Hendley) took on what had been described as a 10 mile trail race through the beautiful Cheviot hills. The morning started with that nasty wet rain and drizzle that soaks you to the skin, and it didn't bode well for a fell race in such an open and exposed place.
