Another great showing from the Knavesmire Harriers at Bishop Wilton. Being responsible for the organisation of this race dented the numbers we had running a bit , but we still fielded 48 runners. So firstly massive thanks to our race organisers, marshalls and supporters. Hadrians Wall Half race report by Andy Bell On the evening of the 28th of June I marched north from York towards Hadrians Wall in the footsteps of the Roman IX legion. A 2 hour drive saw me to my overnight stay in the small village of Acomb (no relation to our local version !) near Hexham. Whorlton Run – Knavesmire’s Wine Festival
Great Summer's evening racing out on the Moors, fine individual efforts and victory in both Male and Female Team competitions rewarded with many bottles of plonk. The almost 6 mile race was the 4th in the Northern Runner North Yorkshire Moors Summer Series, and featured a bit more road than usual. Lording it at Castle Howard 10k Trail Race
Great individual performances and further proof of our great strength in depth at the local stately pile. Knavesmire's Emma Yates continued her fine form with 1st in the Ladies competition, time 41:36 . Cassie Holmes also ran well to finish 4th Lady in 45:34. Knavesmire's leading men were Lindsay Toulson (00:38:32) finishing 4th and Simon Collins ( 38:44) in 5th , Simon was able to lay claim to the prize for first 'local'.
