Help Harry Go MAD in Tanzania

Help me Go MAD in Tanzania
From April- June I will be living and working alongside the rural communities in the Musoma district, where clean water, education, and affordable health care are distant dreams.  I’ll be working as part of a team with one of Tearfund’s partner charities Go Make a Difference (Go MAD) and the local church in communities where the need is greatest.  Tanzania is a country where one in fifteen children die before the age of five and one of the key causes of this is diarrhoea-88% of diarrhoea related deaths are due to lack of access to sanitation facilitiesAs part of the Go MAD team I’ll be:
  • Building pit latrines to improve the hygiene for locals and prevent the spread of disease in the village as well as water tanks bringing free, safe and clean rain water to families and communities.
  • Helping with children’s work in a home for abandoned children, including teaching English, basic health education and Sunday school.
  • Involved in income generation projects such as co-operative farming schemes, ethical clothing business, and dairy goat scheme which allows women to sell the milk so they can afford to send their children to school.
I need to raise £2700 to go towards the costs of the projects I’ll be working on. To fund raise for this I am going to attempt to run the Hadrian’s Wall National Trail which is 84 miles from coast to coast in 3 days (28ish miles per day) from 4th-6th March. If you’d like to sponsor this madness you can do this via my JustGiving page https://www.justgiving.com/Harry-Wilkinson3. You can follow me on my run and my work in Tanzania on my blog http://harrygoesmadintanzania.blogspot.co.ukAll donations are very welcome and will go directly to the projects I will be involved in.

Thanks,
Harry
