—Chester Metric Marathon.

Report by Richard Walker:

The junior partner of the main Chester marathon.

The Metric marathon – 26.2 km / 16.3 miles is a new distance for me, so guaranteed a PB!
It’s an out and back course, which joins up with the main Chester marathon at the marathon’s 18 mile mark. (The marathon again hosted the national age group championship and featured some superb running by the leading vets in the country.)
Perfect conditions, damp and cool, much better than the extremely hot weather of last year.

I finished in 1hr 51:05, in 23rd place and first MV55.
