Weekend Round-up 14-15th November, more XC & Fell race Success, Abbey Dash, Parkrun & more…

Another busy weekend for the hardy runners of York Knavesmire Harriers.

-Saturday morning saw the Parkrunners get us underway, YKH numbers were down slightly with 23 club members taking part.
Parkrun PB’s were attained by Qin Zhou and James Ollerenshaw.

-On Saturday afternoon   our Cross Country runners  were  in action taking to the muddy fields of Keighley for the third race of the  West Yorkshire Cross Country League.

Knavesmire’s Ladies once again demonstrated their fine team form with third place ( of 12)  in the hotly contested team competition . We are currently blessed with a very strong set of female runners as can be seen by their long run of great team team results and individual performances.
Leading the way on this occasion for the Ladies ‘A’ team were Scout Adkin (3rd). Nik Vogan (9th) , Andrea Lancaster (20th) and Cassie Holmes (25th).
Also running and showing what great strength in depth we have were Caroline Warrington (29th) and  Bryony Parkinson (46th),

Trying desperately not to be outdone by the Ladies,  Knavesmire’s Men also had a great day at the Cross Country with the Male team placing 4th of 10 teams.
The lesser spotted Kim Critchley showed that he is still a running force to be reckoned with an excellent fourth place for our pedigree racer. Rounding out the Knavesmire ‘A’ team were Harry Holmes (17th), Chris Roberts (33rd), David Cross (42nd) , Jonathon Pinder (49th) and Nicolas Rooke (50th).
Also running strongly for the Harriers were Barry Atkinson (53rd), Darren Hendley (71st), Richard Lowson (72nd), Richard Tarrega (91st) , Stef Durkin (92nd), Toby Hone (93rd), James Stamford (98th) and Ian Bithell (122nd).

-Sunday morning was no time for a lie in for Knavesmires runners .
Out of bed first were those doing the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k, a very popular race over a number of years for our club members. This year was no exception with 19 from YKH making the trip along the A64.
