–Turner landscape Fell Race.
A fantastic low key Fell Race in one of the Lake Districts lesser visited valleys, the Duddon Valley.
The race is of almost 11 miles and it’s route takes in a stunning traverse across the Seathwaite tarn Dam, climbs from there upto Swirl How , passes the wartime aircraft wreckage at Great Carrs, climbs further to the top of Coniston Old Man, before speeding back to the finish via Dow Cragg, White Pike and the relics of various old Quarry workings.
This year the tops were largely shrouded in cloud which made navigation a bit tricky and limited the usual benefit of spectacular views.
Knavesmire’s Sam Allin had a great race and in unfamiliar territory did excellently with 5th place, Giles Hawking also ran , claiming 14th place in a field of 61.

–Sedbergh Hills Fell Race.
