Results
A really strong showing by club members at their ‘home’ marathon, ably supported by plenty of non running club mates out on the course cheering them on.
Of the 42 YKH club members taking part David Smithers was the first back to the University, claiming 9th place ( 2nd M40 ) with a time of 2:37:46,
Knavesmire’s first Lady was Emma Yates who nipped under 3 hours with a time of 2:59:53, giving Emma 6th place in the Ladies race and 91st overall..
Lindsay Toulson also made it into the top 100 (73rd) with a time of 2:58:09, Simon Fricke just landed the wrong side of the big three with 3:00:38, Andrea Lancaster and Robyn Hawxby were having a ‘battle royale’ / helping each other along with 3:10:15 and 3:10:43 respectively. and David Goult was the race’s fastest over 70 year old with a time of 4:29:12.

A further 30 club members also took part in the 10 mile race .
Alex Bedingham was 23 rd with a time of 1:00:05 and Knavesmire’s first lady was Laura Hallet with a time of 1:10:41 (8th Lady).
Margeret Metcalfe was second fastest Lady over 60 ( 1:24:25 ) with Liz Piper 3rd fastest in that age group (1:27:19).
Jean Snelling did the 10 miles in 2:20:12, not bad for an over 80 year old!
