—Yorkshire Veterans Grand Prix race at Honley.

22 April 2018

The VETS GP season kicked off in great style at Honley on Sunday with a superb multi-terrain race which had a bit of everything, ascents, descents, flat fields, wonderful views and the odd style/gate to negotiate!

The Knavesmire VETS were led home by Barry Atkinson whose time of 42 41 was 14th overall out of 240 and first male 55. Also running well in this category were Neil Strange 45.34, Pete Downes 48.47 and Duncan Chambers 64.00. Andrew Johnson was our sole representative in the male 60 category coming home in 52.25.

Facilities were great with brilliant marshalls, organisation and most importantly tables overflowing with cakes!

If you haven’t tried one of these events they are well worth it, check out the Grand Prix fixtures on the YVAA website (next race 8th May Roundhay, North Leeds).
