Calderdale Way Relay – 11th May

York Knavesmire Harriers are thinking of entering a team in the Calderdale Way Relay on 11th May. Initially I just want to see how much interest there is in taking part in this event and if there is enough I will contact those who expressed interest. The race is around the circular Calderdale Way in West Yorkshire. It is a 12 person relay run in pairs over 6 legs and you must run together. The legs vary in distance from 5 to 11 miles. Yorkshire XC Championships

Lightwater Valley was the venue for the Yorkshire Cross Country Championship and the first Harriers club run of the year. The course was a little muddier than last year after the recent rain but the rain held off on the day. In the Ladies Race we had our best turnout in a few years with 6 Ladies competing. West Yorkshire League – Nunroyd Park

Nunroyd Park was the scene for the final race of the West Yorkshire League Cross Country series. We arrived in good time and were ably supported by Team Manager Andy Neale, who was threatening to throw his pork pie at any York Acorn runners who got in our way. We headed out for a warm-up and to inspect the course, as has been the case for most of the series the conditions were dry and mild with only a hint of mud.
