YKH social night: High-flying Harriers

The latest YKH social event took place at the high-wire "Web Adventure Park" in York. A team of brave Harriers challenged themselves to scale new heights and face old fears. It was terrific (and occassionally terrifying!), and brilliantly organised by the club's Social Secretary, Rich Tarrega. Thunder Run – report

Report by Sarah Attwood. Last weekend saw my second Thunder Run (TR24), a tough, hilly 24 hour off-road relay race. You can enter this race as either a solo runner, as a pair or as a team (of either 3-5 or 6-8). Last year I was entered in a team of 8 with some friends I met at the runnersworld bootcamp, this year we met back up (in bigger numbers) and ran as several teams of 5. Afternoon Tea Social at Goddards – 27.Aug

Dear Runners,   Our next social event takes place on Wednesday 27th August where we will be enjoying afternoon tea at Goddards, the National Trust property on Tadcaster Road.   Tea will be served between 5:30pm and 6:20pm to give those people that are working as much time as possible to get to the venue.  The cost is £10 per person which includes tea, coffee and fresh jam & cream scones.   Knavesmire Harriers will have exclusive use of the gardens and lower house so it should be a … [Read more...]

Victorious Vets at Crossgates.

Victorious Vets Glad to report that with the Summer League racing completed for another year the number of YKH runners attending this race increased to 8 with 3 club members securing age category prizes – some percentage! A perfect English summer evening with the sun shining but with a pleasant cooling breeze provided almost perfect running conditions for the 238 runners who completed the race.
