We had a great success especially as the Male and Female winners where Knavesmire Harriers. WELL DONE TO JASON HIGGINS AND EMMA YATES.
In the overall race, first place went to Jason Higgins with a time of 36.12, followed by Lindsay Toulson at 36.15 and Neil Stabbs came 4th with 36.41.
The women’s race was won by Emma Yates after a sprint for the line with team mate Andrea Lancaster. Anwen Darlington, also for Knavesmire Harries, completed the podium positions and overall there were 5 Knavesmire ladies in the top 6, a great achievement showing the strength of the ladies team. Hopefully we can retain this form across the league and the ladies team can defend the team title from last year.’
Many of our members were reporting PB’s, it was great to see returning members racing again well done Sarah Nettleton.!!
What was really good was our ladies Captains Nik and Cassie who went to the trouble to get a list of all the ladies and cheered us in as we came to the finish certaintly gave you a boost to push yourself to the finish. Thank you Captains : )
Supper went down a treat afterwards and it was great to chat to some of our new members in the club who report great achievements and it is an honor to have you in our club and racing.
Well done to all and I am looking forward to this series as I every confidence that we will triumph again in the summer league.
Unfortunately our President Malcolm Fawcett could not be with us on the night he fully intended to be there to support us but unfortunately was not well enough but he did send his best wishes to us.
