YKH parkrun Showdown – 9am Sat 27th Sept

What? We're holding a club contest at our lovely local parkrun. parkrun is a free weekly timed 5km event, and gives all registered runners age graded scores for each run. This score is the percentage of the world record for your age and gender, so that an 80 year old man's performance can be compared on equal footing to a 20 year old lady's. Major Stone Half Marathon Report

Sunday 7th September 2014 On a warm and sunny late summer’s day a group of dedicated Knavesmire Harriers gathered in the pretty village of Lockington to run the Major Stone Half Marathon organised by East Hull Harriers. Middleton wins Middleton Cup

August saw the inaugural hosting of the pretigious "Middleton Cup", with its honorary namesake, club-legend-John-Middleton, claiming glorious victory. As background, YKH Social Secretary, Richard Tarrega, bet YKH Members Secretary, Alistair McQueen (after a couple of cheeky cocktails - honestly) that Alistair could not beat club-legend-John-Middleton in any of the 2014 summer league races. Burnsall 10 Mile and Classic Fell Race Report

To celebrate Alistair's birthday a few of us headed to the Dales this weekend. This included a visit to the Burnsall Feast Sports which hosts a full day of races and activities ranging from the entertaining wheelbarrow and egg and spoon racing to the serious business of the Classic Fell Race. In the 10 Mile race YKH had three entrants for the hilly course from Burnsall through Grassington and back on the opposite side of the river.
