Another busy weekend for members of York Knavesmire Harriers.
-Many members were involved in the organisation and marshalling of the Levisham Limping club run. They and those that ran were rewarded with lovely warm Autumnal weather and a trip to a lovely part of the North Yorkshire Moors. Beautiful Scenary , steam trains in the valley bottom, deilicious home made cakes made by the Lockton W.I and victory for Knavesmire’s Harry Holmes.
-Special mention to Simon Ward who completed the Round Ripon Ultra Marathon . Thanks to getting a little lost he ran over 37 miles!
-Also ocurring locally was the Foston and Thornton le Clay 10k, results not yet avaiable at time of writing. Ste Robson and Stephen Green were taking part.
– The Kielder Marathon and Half Maratrhon took place, amongst those running the half was Vivianne Fraser.(results not yet avaiable at time of writing.)
-Further North Knavesmire’s Barry Atkinson was first vet at the Glen Coe off-road trail Marathon, a challenging race with over 1600m’s of ascent.
– Knavesmire’s Stefan Durkin ran the Action Heart 2 Villages m/t 10k – where Black Country legend Steve Bull was the starter & Midlands Todays v. own Nick Owen presented prizes, Steff came 11/245 in 42.06 on a brill hilly course around beautiful Enville & Kinver in the S. Staffs countryside.
– Neil Stabbs was 12th at the Rivington Trail Half Marathon.
– Of course many of you were also doing training runs, other races ?, tapering for Yorkshire Marathon and York Parkrun.
