Pudsey – YVAA Vets GP Series – Race 1 – Report

Vet’s Grand Prix Series 2014  First challenge of the series was the old favorite at Pudsey. Normally held in mid June it is always one of our ‘dirtier runs’. Rescheduled to early February it surpassed all expectations! 4 Marathons on 4 Continents in 4 Weeks – update Tokyo completed.

UPDATE ON 4 MARATHONS ON 4 CONTINENTS IN 4 WEEKS Good news. Colin Lea and David Darton from YKH have completed the first of their 4 marathons on 4 continents in 4 weeks. Marathon 1 - Tokyo: David finished in 3hr 53 despite running with arm in plaster and sling. Colin paced much more sensibly and finished in 4hrs 20. By Stephen Robson When I entered this race at the end of last year I was expecting a chilly but enjoyable race to blow off those post Christmas cobwebs. How wrong I was! Neither chilly nor enjoyable were accurate for this year’s race as it seems that someone ordered near apocalyptic weather conditions for the day, and boy did we suffer. Headtorch Option Adding Interest to Training

Headtorches  Adding Interest to Training   In order to add variety to the routes for the Monday/Thursday Social Runs we have introduced some routes along unlit paths which require the use of headtorches. Last Monday (27 Jan) there were about 30 members out, in two groups, who enjoyed looking at Orion whilst running down the cycle track to Bishopthorpe as part of the 6 mile circuit.
