--YDRRL 'Summer' League Race #1 - Pocklington. The 'Summer' league got off to a great start, with 100 members of York Knavesmire Harriers taking part on Tuesday evening, A nasty cloud burst before the start was somewhat ominous , but it was soon gone and conditions for the race were good , maybe a little too chilly , but a good tailwind on the way back into Pocklington. Vale of York 10. report by Phillip Elliott-Dick With a new 10 mile road race on the doorsteps of York, 41 harriers took part in what was described as a flat and fast route, which actually turned out to be a more undulating route, but yet with fully closed roads and a field of 750+, made for a good course and race.
