York Knavesmire Harriers are thinking of entering a team in the Calderdale Way Relay on 11th May. Initially I just want to see how much interest there is in taking part in this event and if there is enough I will contact those who expressed interest. The race is around the circular Calderdale Way in West Yorkshire. It is a 12 person relay run in pairs over 6 legs and you must run together. The legs vary in distance from 5 to 11 miles. Yorkshire XC Championships

Lightwater Valley was the venue for the Yorkshire Cross Country Championship and the first Harriers club run of the year. The course was a little muddier than last year after the recent rain but the rain held off on the day. In the Ladies Race we had our best turnout in a few years with 6 Ladies competing. After the excesses of the Christmas period, it was time for the 10th and final club run of 2013, the Jolly Holly Jog in Ripon. 27 Harriers arrived to tackle a multi-terrain course taking in parts of the Studley Royal deer park and the surrounding area.
