  ---Yorkshire Cross Country Championships - Lightwater Valley, Ripon 07.01.2017. With 18 men and 8 Ladies we had a good number of runners to campaign for the County's  highest honours. Knavesmire's Ladies were first into the fray , their race comprising 1 small and 3 large laps , of a splendidly un-muddy and very run able course, set within pleasant  parkland inside the Big One roller coaster. ---Rossendale's Lee Mill Fell Relays. We returned for a second year to this challenging  Pennine relay race , with our Ladies winning the Female Team competition last year we had quite a bit to live up to.       The race held near Bacup , (nr Rochdale) comprises four legs of almost 6.5 miles, climbing through disused Quarries ( now a popular Mountain Biking venue) onto the high moor where perilously deep bogs  had to be negotiated before careening back through the quarries to the … [Read more...]
