--YDRRL 'Summer' League Race #1 - Pocklington. The 'Summer' league got off to a great start, with 100 members of York Knavesmire Harriers taking part on Tuesday evening, A nasty cloud burst before the start was somewhat ominous , but it was soon gone and conditions for the race were good , maybe a little too chilly , but a good tailwind on the way back into Pocklington. Vale of York 10. report by Phillip Elliott-Dick With a new 10 mile road race on the doorsteps of York, 41 harriers took part in what was described as a flat and fast route, which actually turned out to be a more undulating route, but yet with fully closed roads and a field of 750+, made for a good course and race. Thirsk 10 mile road race. A lovely spring morning greeted the 870+ runners for the Thirsk 10 mile road race  , this race is always well organised and marshalled and yet again they did a great job. 14 Knavesmire Harriers turned out for this event and they did the club proud. -Black Combe Fell Race. - Report by Tom Ratcliffe. Black combe - The words don’t inspire too many positive connotations. It makes you think of murky British weather, rain, drizzle, fog (clag), disorientation, big hills, tough fell running.
