Great Team Effort at Calderdale Way Relay

Knavesmire Harriers returned on 17 May for a second attempt at the Calderdale Way Relay Race. A massive event , comprising six legs run in pairs over the steep  hills and along the canals and valleys  of the Halifax area. The hotly contested race is now in it's 31st year and regularly attracts nearly 100 teams of 12 from across the North . Last Call for Calderdale…

Last Call for Calderdale…. 2015 sees the 31st running of the Calderdale Way Relay on Sunday 17th May. This is Britain’s biggest club-run off-road event with around 90 teams and over 1,000 runners taking part in the 2014 edition. We’re looking for runners to join the Knavesmire teams hoping to take part in this year’s event. 20 runners have signed up already, so we need 4 more runners (plus a few reserves) to give us enough for a second team. Calderdale Way Relay – Entries

Calling all Harriers… 2015 sees the 31st running of the Calderdale Way Relay on Sunday 17th May. This is Britain’s biggest club-run off-road event with around 90 teams and over 1,000 runners taking part in the 2014 edition. Last year, the event included a team from York Knavesmire Harriers having its first crack and finishing in a creditable 38th place. FRA Relays – Report

We headed over to the Middleton Fells, the venue for this years FRA Relays, at the crack of dawn to get there in time for registration and a team lineup change. It had been an eventful last 24 hours with Tony Heron, my planned leg 2 partner, coming down with illness and us having to draft Tom in at the last minute.
